The Main Idea
FabulousMap was created with one simple goal: to build the most comprehensive, accessible, and transparent global semiconductor fabrication plant (fab) database in the world.
Semiconductors are the bedrock of modern technology, driving everything from smartphones and cars to AI and national security. Despite the industry's massive scale and geopolitical importance, tracking where these chips are actually made, and who is building new capacity, has traditionally been fragmented, opaque, or locked behind expensive paywalls.
We believe that understanding the semiconductor supply chain shouldn't be a privilege. By mapping out active, planned, and under-construction fabs across the globe, we aim to provide industry professionals, researchers, investors, and enthusiasts with a clear, interactive picture of the world's silicon footprint.
Data from Public Sources
All data presented on FabulousMap is gathered from publicly available sources. We do not use proprietary or confidential information.
Our database is continuously updated through a combination of:
- Official Corporate Disclosures: Press releases, earnings reports, ESG reports, and official company websites (e.g., TSMC, Intel, Samsung).
- Government Announcements: Public statements regarding subsidies, grants, and environmental permits (e.g., U.S. CHIPS Act announcements).

All entries are manually researched and verified against official corporate sources, government announcements, and reputable industry publications. A Data Quality Score on each fab page reflects how complete the publicly available information is for that facility.
