Overview
ABLIC's Takatsuka Unit in Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture is the company's front-end wafer fabrication facility, handling product design, process development, and wafer processing. ABLIC traces its semiconductor heritage to 1968 when its predecessor (Seiko Instruments) developed CMOS ICs for the world's first practical quartz watches. Products include voltage regulators, voltage detectors, op-amps, Hall-effect sensors, timing ICs, and temperature sensors for consumer, mobile, automotive, and healthcare markets. Vertically integrated from design to packaging (back-end at the Akita Unit in Daisen, Akita). Became independent from Seiko Group in 2018; joined MinebeaMitsumi Group in April 2020.
