IBM's Bromont campus in Quebec's Eastern Townships is the largest semiconductor assembly, packaging and test facility in North America and a United States government-trusted supplier. Opened in 1972 as a small maker of metallic substrates, it has grown through more than US$1.3 billion of investment into a leading advanced-packaging operation (flip-chip and 2.5D/3D integration) employing over 2,800 people, and it anchors the C2MI microelectronics innovation centre.
