Overview
Lumentum's Greensboro, North Carolina manufacturing facility, a 240,000 sq ft former Qorvo semiconductor fab signed over to Lumentum on 17 March 2026 (reported at around USD 18 million), is being retrofitted to produce continuous-wave and ultra-high-power indium phosphide (InP) lasers on 6-inch InP wafers for AI data center optical interconnects, with NVIDIA as a customer.
