Overview
Murata Electronics Oy in Vantaa, Finland is Murata's only MEMS sensor fab outside Japan, making capacitive 3D MEMS accelerometers, inclinometers, and gyroscopes for automotive, medical, and industrial customers. The site began in 1991 as VTI Technologies (originating from Vaisala's sensor business), was owned by Breed Technologies and then EQT from 2002, and was acquired by Murata in January 2012. In August 2018 Murata announced a JPY 5 billion investment in a new factory building at the Vantaa site, adding 150-200 jobs.
