Orient Semiconductor Electronics, Ltd. (OSE, also known as Huatai; TWSE 2329) is a Taiwanese outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) company, established in June 1971 and generally regarded as the first Taiwanese-funded OSAT provider. It is headquartered in the Nanzih District of Kaohsiung (No. 9, Central 3rd St., Nanzih Technology Industrial Park) and was listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange in April 1994. Through its Semiconductor Group OSE provides memory-IC and logic-IC packaging and test services -- wire-bond packaging on both leadframes and laminate substrates, flip-chip packaging and customised design -- and it also runs an electronics-manufacturing-services (EMS) group. As an assembly/test house it has no wafer-fab process node; per-facility monthly wafer capacity is not a fab metric and plant cost is not disclosed.
