Polymatech Nava Raipur GaN Fab

Overview

A gallium-nitride (GaN) semiconductor plant being set up by Chennai-based Polymatech Electronics at Sector 5, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, Chhattisgarh -- the state's first semiconductor manufacturing unit. The foundation stone was laid on 11 April 2025 by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai; the site (about 150,000 square feet) was allotted through a Nava Raipur Development Authority tender. The ~Rs 1,143 crore (~US$137 million) plant is to produce GaN semiconductor chips for 5G/6G telecom, mobile devices, laptops, EV fast chargers, radar, solar inverters, power electronics and data centres, with a stated capacity target of 10 billion chips per year by 2030.
