Overview
Pure Wafer's Swansea, Wales silicon wafer reclaim plant operated from 2001 and had installed reclaim capacity of about 80,000 wafers per month by mid-2007. The facility was severely damaged by an electrical fire in December 2014; the company decided not to reinstate UK manufacturing, recorded the UK business as discontinued operations after receiving roughly USD 96 million in insurance proceeds, and sold the building in March 2016.
