Overview
Teledyne DALSA's Bromont, Quebec facility is a pure-play MEMS foundry operating 150mm and 200mm wafer lines, producing micro-mirrors, inertial sensors, silicon microphones and pressure sensors. The fab dates to 1976, when Mitel purchased an IC manufacturing facility in Bromont; it later passed to Mitel's semiconductor spin-off Zarlink, which sold the foundry to DALSA in January 2002 for CDN$27M (about 250 employees transferred, with Zarlink keeping a 19.9% stake initially). Teledyne acquired DALSA in 2011, and the Bromont fab has operated as Teledyne DALSA Semiconductor since.
