Wolfspeed is the global leader in Third Generation Semiconductor technology, focusing on Silicon Carbide (SiC) and GaN materials and power devices. Wolfspeed powers future technologies in EVs, renewable energy, and 5G. In 2023 Wolfspeed sold its RF business, including its Research Triangle Park, NC GaN-on-SiC wafer fab, to MACOM for $125M; the fab fully transferred to MACOM in July 2025.
