Overview
Silex Microsystems has signed a binding agreement (~July 7, 2026) to acquire this existing 200mm fab in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania from onsemi for $40 million, its first U.S. manufacturing site. The facility currently produces ICs for onsemi; Silex will convert it into a MEMS foundry and intends to retain its ~130 employees. Total estimated capex (purchase + conversion) is ~SEK 1.6 billion through 2030. Closing is targeted around year-end 2027, subject to CFIUS clearance.
