Overview
VIS Fab 2 is a 200mm (8-inch) wafer fab in Hsinchu Science Park producing analog, mixed-signal and power ICs. VIS was founded in December 1994 in Hsinchu Science Park by Morris Chang and initially made DRAM before announcing its shift to pure-play foundry in 2000 and fully exiting DRAM in February 2004. Across its five 8-inch fabs in Taiwan and Singapore, VIS ran a combined capacity of roughly 287,000 wafers per month in 2025.
