Overview
MACOM's Ann Arbor, Michigan wafer fab, at 2925 Boardwalk, traces to Picometrix, a high-speed photodiode and optical receiver maker founded in 1992, later owned by Advanced Photonix (2005) and Luna Innovations (2015). MACOM acquired the High-Speed Optical Receiver (HSOR) business and its Ann Arbor manufacturing operations from Luna in August 2017. Per MACOM's own FY2025 10-K, it remains one of the company's four current internal wafer fabs (with Lowell MA, Research Triangle Park NC, and Limeil-Brevannes, France); MACOM has begun transferring its 200-gigabit photodiode process to the larger Lowell fab to support demand, while production continues at Ann Arbor in the meantime. Key facility details include: The facility is situated at 2925 Boardwalk, Ann Arbor, MI 48104, USA. It focuses on Photonics / Optical, Compound Semiconductor. Production at this facility commenced in 1992.
