Overview
PSMC Fab 8A in Hsinchu Science Park is a 200mm fab running 350nm to 110nm processes for logic and discrete products, with a capacity of 75,000 wafers per month. It began mass production in 1996 as Powerchip Semiconductor's first fab, built with DRAM technology transferred from Mitsubishi Electric, and passed to the Maxchip logic-foundry spin-off in 2008 that was renamed PSMC in 2019.
