Overview
ROHM-Wako, founded Oct 8, 1966 as Wako Denki Co. in Kasaoka, Okayama, started with fixed resistors, then diodes (1980), LEDs (1981) and semiconductor lasers (1986); renamed ROHM-Wako in 2000, it is now a top production site for ROHM's diodes and LSI products. As of an October 2025 ROHM announcement, ROHM-Wako, ROHM-Apollo, and ROHM Hamamatsu are being reorganized (effective April 2026) into two new front-end/back-end manufacturing companies, ROHM Device Manufacturing and ROHM Assembly Manufacturing.
