Overview

ASE Group's major advanced packaging campus in Zhongli District, Taoyuan, northern Taiwan. The Chung Li plant was originally established in 1985 as a Motorola IC packaging and test facility (about 1,400 employees and US$200 million revenue by 1998); ASE acquired it, together with Motorola's Paju plant in Korea, around its 2000 NYSE ADR listing and created the ASE ChungLi Intelligent Industrial Park in 2001. The park combines wafer probing, IC packaging (flip-chip, CSP, MCM, SiP, memory), testing, and EMS under one roof. ASE is investing NT$4.2B (~US$134M) to acquire an additional factory in the district to expand AI chip-related packaging and CoWoS capacity. Key facility details include: The facility is situated at Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. It focuses on Advanced Packaging, Assembly & Packaging on 150mm, 200mm, 300mm wafers. Production at this facility commenced in 1985.
