Overview
ASE's Malaysia operations in Penang Bayan Lepas / GBS Technology Park. Five plants; Plant 4 (copper clip bonding, CIS packaging) inaugurated January 2024; Plant 5 (AI-smart manufacturing) launched February 2025. Expanding total floor space from 1M to 3.4M sq ft to capture automotive and AI packaging demand outside Greater China. ASE also agreed to acquire ADI's Penang plant in H1 2026 to further expand Southeast Asia capacity. Key facility details include: The facility is situated at Bayan Lepas / GBS Technology Park, Penang, Malaysia. It focuses on Advanced Packaging, Assembly & Packaging on 150mm, 200mm, 300mm wafers.
