Overview
TPSCo Uozu Fab (Fab 7) is an active 300mm semiconductor manufacturing facility in Japan. In March 2026, Tower Semiconductor and Nuvoton Technology Corporation Japan (NTCJ) announced a restructuring of their TPSCo joint venture under which Tower will take full ownership of Fab 7, targeted to close April 1, 2027. As part of a July 2026 dual-track Japan expansion (up to $3 billion net of grants, backed by ~$1 billion in METI grants), Tower has an option to buy the Fab 7 building and land and, pending Japanese government subsidy approval, plans to acquire adjacent land to expand 300mm silicon photonics and SiGe capacity to roughly four times current levels. Key facility details include: The facility is situated at Uozu, Toyama, Japan. It focuses on Logic / Foundry, Sensors and 65, 45 process nodes on 300mm wafers. This site represents a production capacity of 20,000 wafers per month.
