BYD Changsha Campus
Overview
BYD Semiconductor Changsha is an 8-inch (200mm) wafer fab producing automotive-grade IGBT chips and power devices, supporting BYD's EV drivetrain supply chain in-house. Construction started in April 2020; the line completed equipment installation and began commissioning in September 2022 and entered production in October 2022, with a designed annual capacity of 250,000 8-inch automotive-grade wafers. Key facility details include: The facility is situated at Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone, Changsha, Hunan, China. It focuses on Analog / Power, Automotive / Specialty on 200mm wafers. This site represents a production capacity of 20,800 wafers per month. Production at this facility commenced in 2022.

About BYD Semiconductor
BYD Semiconductor Co., Ltd. is the semiconductor subsidiary of Chinese EV giant BYD Company, tracing back to BYD's IC design department founded in 2002. Following its 2008 acquisition of Ningbo SinoMos, BYD Semiconductor became a vertically-integrated IDM (design through manufacturing) and is the largest domestic supplier of automotive IGBT modules in China, also producing battery-management chips, MCUs, sensors, and optoelectronics for BYD's vehicles and external customers.
