Overview
Epistar Fab A1 at the Hsinchu Science Park is the LED maker's headquarters fab, producing LED epitaxial wafers and chips. Epistar, founded in 1996 in Hsinchu and merged into the Ennostar holding group in 2021, is one of the world's largest manufacturers of LED epitaxial wafers and dies. Epistar launched its first AlInGaP LED products in November 1997, about a year after its September 1996 founding, per the company's official milestones.
