Overview
Qorvo's Oregon wafer fab traces to TriQuint Semiconductor, spun out of Tektronix in 1985 in Beaverton, Oregon; in 1997 TriQuint relocated to Hillsboro and built a 32-acre corporate campus anchored by a 160,000 sq ft complex at 2300 NE Brookwood Parkway. The fab produces GaAs, GaN, BAW, SAW and TC-SAW compound-semiconductor wafers for RF front-end components. In November 1999 TriQuint began a roughly $6 million expansion to convert the line from 4-inch to 6-inch (150mm) GaAs processing, a 35% cleanroom increase projected to support up to $450 million/year in revenue once fully converted. Following the 2015 RFMD-TriQuint merger that created Qorvo, Hillsboro remained a co-headquarters until mid-2016, when Qorvo designated Greensboro, NC as its sole HQ; Hillsboro continued as a production site. It is now one of only two Qorvo-owned wafer fabs still operating, after Qorvo sold its Greensboro, NC fabrication facility in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026 and began transferring SAW filter production to its Richardson, TX plant under a short-term supply agreement with the buyer. On October 6, 2026, Skyworks Solutions completed its combination with Qorvo (a cash-and-stock transaction valuing Qorvo at roughly $32.5 billion), retiring the Qorvo brand; this facility now operates under Skyworks Solutions. Key facility details include: The facility is situated at 2300 NE Brookwood Parkway, Hillsboro, OR 97124, USA. It focuses on RF / Wireless, Compound Semiconductor, GaN on 100mm, 150mm wafers. Production at this facility commenced in 1997.
