Overview
Sony's Nagasaki Technology Center in Isahaya, Nagasaki Prefecture was established in December 1987 and is the main production hub for smartphone CMOS image sensors, Sony's top-share product line. The ~269,000 m2 site employed about 2,900 people as of April 2021. Its newest fab, Fab 5 (~48,000 m2 total floor area with 10,000 m2 of cleanroom over two floors), began operations in April 2021.
