Overview

Crolles 300 is ST's flagship 300mm wafer fabrication facility (originally the Crolles2 Alliance with Philips and Motorola/Freescale, inaugurated 2003), pioneering Fully Depleted Silicon-on-Insulator (FD-SOI) technology for low-power automotive and industrial applications. Under a 2017 investment plan ST and Agrate's 300mm fabs together received a combined $3.63 billion in capital expenditure; ST's April 2025 restructuring targets increasing Crolles 300mm capacity to 14,000 wafers/week by 2027, with modular expansions planned up to 20,000 wafers/week depending on market conditions. Key facility details include: The facility is situated at 850 Rue Jean Monnet, 38920 Crolles, France. It focuses on Logic / Foundry, Mixed-Signal and 18, 28, 40, 65, 90 process nodes on 300mm wafers. Production at this facility commenced in 2002.
