Overview
GlobalFoundries Fab 1 in Dresden, Germany is the group's largest 300mm site and its main European fab. The campus began as AMD's Dresden operations (Fab 30, from 1999, and later Fab 36) and became Fab 1 when AMD spun off its manufacturing into GlobalFoundries in March 2009. It runs bulk CMOS and silicon-on-insulator (SOI) processes across 22–55nm at roughly 70,000 wafers per month.
