Overview
UMC Fab 12M, operated by subsidiary United Semiconductor Japan Co. (USJC) in Kuwana, Mie, is UMC's fourth 300mm fab. It began as Mie Fujitsu Semiconductor, a UMC–Fujitsu joint venture, which UMC fully acquired (100%) on October 1, 2019 and renamed USJC. The fab provides specialty foundry volume production on mature nodes from 90nm to 40nm. Key facility details include: The facility is situated at 2000-17, Enba, Kuwana, Mie 511-0118, Japan. It focuses on Logic / Foundry and 90, 65, 55, 40 process nodes on 300mm wafers. This site represents a production capacity of 40,000 wafers per month. Production at this facility commenced in 2005.
