Amkor Technology Japan is Amkor's Japanese back-end operation, built on the former J-Devices business. J-Devices was established as a joint venture in October 2009 in Kyushu on Toshiba's assembly and test operations (a 2001 Toshiba joint venture predates it), and grew through the transfer of back-end plants from Fujitsu and Renesas in 2012 and 2013; Amkor took full ownership and rebranded it Amkor Technology Japan.
