SMIC SN2 is the advanced-node 300mm fab adjacent to SN1 at SMIC's Shanghai south campus. US sanctions since 2020 mean SMIC discloses almost nothing about it, but industry analyses place SMIC's advanced-node R&D and production there, including the DUV-based 7nm-class N+1/N+2 processes used for Huawei Kirin processors (such as the Kirin 9000s and Kirin X90) in mass production, and reported low-volume 5nm-class output for Huawei with constrained yields.
