Overview
SMIC Xicheng (SMTC, Semiconductor Manufacturing Tianjin-Xiqing Corporation) is a $7.5B 300mm fab project in the Xiqing Economic Development Area, Tianjin, announced in August 2022 as a joint venture with the Xiqing district government. It targets 100,000 wafers per month at nodes from 28nm to 180nm for consumer, automotive and industrial chips. The fab is the latest of SMIC's four new mega-fab projects and remained in construction and fit-out as of mid-2026, with no publicly confirmed production start date.
