Overview
Intel's Shanghai campus in the Zizhu Science Park (Minhang District) hosts the Intel Asia-Pacific R&D Center and Intel's China operations. Intel's original Shanghai assembly/test plant in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone (Pudong) was announced in 1995, began construction in November 1996, and assembled and tested flash memory and other products until February 2009, when Intel announced its closure and consolidated the assembly/test operations to Chengdu, affecting about 2,000 employees.
