Overview
Micron Fab 16 in Taoyuan, Taiwan is a 300mm DRAM fab, formerly Inotera Memories. Micron completed the $4.1B acquisition of Inotera in December 2016, making it a wholly owned Taiwan DRAM site (Micron Technology Taiwan). The original Inotera 300mm plant, a $2.2 billion Infineon-Nanya joint-venture investment, was built and ramped in about 18 months: first DRAM production on 110nm trench technology began in April 2004, with a first stage of more than 20,000 wafer starts per month by end-2004 and over 50,000 planned at full build-out. Under Micron's internal numbering the former Inotera plant in Taoyuan is Fab 11 (Micron Technology Taiwan). Key facility details include: The facility is situated at Taoyuan, Taiwan.
