Overview
Micron's first leading-edge memory megafab in Boise, Idaho (ID1), co-located with its R&D center. Ground broken September 2022, fab construction began October 2023, first DRAM wafer output projected in the second half of calendar 2027 (FY2025 10-K). Part of up to $6.1B in CHIPS Act direct funding shared with the Clay, NY site; a second Idaho fab (ID2) was announced in June 2025. Key facility details include: The facility is situated at Boise, Idaho, USA. It focuses on DRAM and 1-gamma process nodes on 300mm wafers. This site represents an estimated investment of $15B. Production at this facility is expected to begin in 2027.
