Overview
Samsung Foundry's S5 line on the Pyeongtaek campus is an EUV-based 300mm production line for advanced nodes of 5nm and below. Samsung announced the line in 2020 to expand its EUV foundry capacity beyond Hwaseong for 5G, HPC and AI applications, and it entered full operation in the second half of 2021. The investment for the line was reported at approximately 10 trillion won (~$8.1 billion) at the May 2020 groundbreaking.
