Overview
TSMC Fab 6 was TSMC's first wafer fab in the Southern Taiwan Science Park in Tainan, an 8-inch (200mm) line that came on stream around 2000-2001. It manufactures mature logic on 0.18-micron and 0.11-micron processes, with a capacity of roughly 99,000 wafers per month, and established TSMC's manufacturing presence in southern Taiwan ahead of the later Fab 14 and Fab 18 GigaFabs. Key facility details include: The facility is situated at 1,Nan-Ke North Rd.,Tainan Science Park,Tainan741-44,Taiwan,R.O.C.. It focuses on Logic / Foundry and 180, 110 process nodes on 200mm wafers. This site represents an estimated investment of $2.1B and a production capacity of 99,000 wafers per month. Production at this facility commenced in 2000, January; 2001.
