Overview
TSMC JASM Phase 2 is an advanced fabrication facility currently under construction in Kumamoto. In early 2026, TSMC confirmed a strategic upgrade to deploy 3nm process technology at this site to meet global AI demand. Combined with Phase 1, the Kumamoto site will exceed 100,000 wafers per month in total capacity. Key facility details include: The facility is situated at 4106-1 Haramizu, Kikuyo-machi, Kikuchi-gun, Kumamoto 869-1102, Japan. It focuses on Logic / Foundry and 3, 6, 7, 40 process nodes on 300mm wafers. This site represents an estimated investment of $17B and a production capacity of 45,000 wafers per month. Production at this facility is expected to begin in 2027.
