Overview
Fab 12 in the Hsinchu Science Park was TSMC's first 12-inch (300mm) GigaFab, with equipment moving in from 2001 and volume production from 2002. This early phase runs the 28nm and 20nm nodes. A TSMC GigaFab is a site with capacity above 100,000 300mm wafers per month; TSMC does not disclose capacity or cost per individual phase. Key facility details include: The facility is situated at Hsinchu, Taiwan. It focuses on Logic / Foundry and 28, 20 process nodes on 300mm wafers. Production at this facility commenced in 2001.
